It has a hardened striking face in the neck and can therefore be used as a sledge or in combination with a splitting wedge. The head is hand forged and made of high quality Swedish steel. Wooden 32" handle is made of American hickory and secured with both a wooden and steel wedge. Comes with a leather edge cover.
