WoodlandPRO 43RP is a specialty chainsaw chain known as ripping chain. Ripping chain is designed to cut efficiently with the grain of the wood, unlike standard saw chain. It is most commonly used to slab logs, burls and stumps. Ripping chain gives you a smooth, consistent surface when cutting parallel to the grain of a log. On the contrary, standard saw chain is designed to sever wood across the grain, and when you saw parallel to the grain, your cutting speed falls dramatically, and your sawn surface becomes very rough. This chain is recommended for milling purposes only, therefor not designed for standard hand held use. All WoodlandPRO saw chain is made with professional features, including industrial chrome plated cutters for great stay sharp qualities, and a patented alloy steel chassis to lessen stretch during break in. This chain has limited kickback reductions features, so it is recommeneded for professional use only. WoodlandPRO 43RP chain sharpens with a 7/32" round file or 3/16" grinding wheel.
